Police Protection

• Initially, the new town would contract for the same existing level of services.  The Madera County Sheriff has indicated that he would dedicate officers to Oakhurst rather than the current practice of sharing them with other parts of the county.
• The dedicated officers would also provide traffic enforcement and accident investigation services in Oakhurst.
• The California Highway Patrol would continue to have responsibility for Highways 41 and 49.
